What is in a VapoCept capsule?

Below is the full list in the order the published panel gives it. The last column shows what the printed numbers add up to.

VapoCept supplement panel, per capsule
RowIngredientAmount
1Niacin7.5 mg NE
2Calcium (as calcium carbonate)18 mg
3L-Arginine (base)200 mg
4L-Arginine AKG 2:1 Extract200 mg
5L-Citrulline HCl100 mg
6L-Citrulline Malate100 mg
7Beta-Alanine40 mg
Total declared actives665.5 mg

Add the five amino acid rows: 200 plus 200 plus 100 plus 100 plus 40 makes 640 mg. Add niacin and calcium and you reach 665.5 mg. The arithmetic checks out.

The seller's Inside VapoCept ingredient card
The seller's ingredient card names six ingredients. The panel names seven.

What do niacin and calcium do here?

Niacin is vitamin B3. NIH's Office of Dietary Supplements says it helps turn the food you eat into the energy you need. The adult RDA is 14 to 16 mg NE, and the upper limit is 35 mg a day. One capsule gives 7.5 mg NE.

Calcium comes as calcium carbonate at 18 mg. The adult RDA is 1,000 to 1,200 mg, so this is a sliver. The upper limit is 2,500 mg a day for adults 19 to 50 and 2,000 mg from age 51.

Both are everyday nutrients you also get from food. At these sizes they add little, which is also why they add little risk.

Why are there two kinds of arginine?

L-arginine base gives 200 mg. L-arginine AKG 2:1 extract gives another 200 mg. AKG stands for alpha-ketoglutarate, a salt partner. The 2:1 ratio means two parts arginine to one part AKG.

By the printed ratio, the AKG row holds about 133 mg of arginine. So the arginine itself comes to roughly 333 mg, while the two rows add up to 400 mg of material.

Arginine works through nitric oxide, the pathway several blood pressure medicines also act on. That is why people on those medicines should speak to a pharmacist first. NIH reports that arginine appears safe at up to 9 grams a day, far above this capsule.

There is no federal consumer page for the AKG form on its own.

What about the two citrullines?

L-citrulline HCl gives 100 mg and L-citrulline malate gives 100 mg. Both are citrulline with a partner molecule attached. The malate form is on the panel only. Neither marketing card mentions it.

The free citrulline content of each form is not published, so the real citrulline total cannot be worked out from the label.

For safety, the NIH fact sheet says there is not enough research to know for sure whether citrulline is safe. Research doses ran up to 9 g for one day or 6 g a day, so 200 mg is a small fraction.

What does beta-alanine add?

Beta-alanine is an endurance amino acid. Studies used 1.6 to 6.4 grams a day. VapoCept has 40 mg, about a fortieth of the low end.

The known side effect of beta-alanine is tingling in the face, neck, hands and upper trunk. NIH says it starts at doses of 800 mg or more and lasts 60 to 90 minutes. At 40 mg it is unlikely here.

Like the others, it is filed with exercise and athletic performance, not memory.

What does the label leave out?

A good ingredient review also names the blanks. These are the lines no one gave us:

  • Other ingredients, such as fillers or flow agents.
  • The capsule shell material.
  • An allergen statement.
  • A warnings panel and a storage line.
  • An expiry date.
  • A manufacturer or distributor.
  • Where each ingredient comes from.

The capsule shell matters for one reason. The packaging carries a vegetarian seal. With no other-ingredients line, that seal cannot be checked, so we do not call the product vegetarian. We also do not call the seal false. Read your bottle before the first capsule.

The same goes for "dairy free" and "naturally gluten free": they cover the seven actives, not the unseen extras.

Frequently asked questions

What are the ingredients in VapoCept?

Niacin 7.5 mg NE, calcium 18 mg, L-arginine 200 mg, L-arginine AKG 2:1 200 mg, L-citrulline HCl 100 mg, L-citrulline malate 100 mg and beta-alanine 40 mg per capsule.

Does VapoCept have a proprietary blend?

No. Every ingredient amount is printed on the published panel. Total declared actives are 665.5 mg per capsule.

Is VapoCept vegetarian?

It cannot be checked. The capsule shell and the other-ingredients line were not supplied, so the vegetarian seal is unverified. Read your bottle first.

Is VapoCept made of capsules, pills, gummies or drops?

The published form is a capsule in a white 30-count bottle. We hold no gummy or drop version.

Why does the ingredient card show six ingredients?

The seller's cards name six. The panel names seven, adding L-citrulline malate. Where the card and the bottle disagree, the bottle wins.

Where can I read the supplement facts?

Our supplement facts page transcribes the published panel row by row. Your own bottle is the final word when it arrives.

Our view

Our view: the ingredient list is the best-disclosed part of VapoCept. Seven rows, seven numbers, easy arithmetic. That openness lets anyone judge the dose.

And the verdict from that judgement is modest. The amounts are small, the amino acids belong to a sports category, and the missing lines mean you should read your own bottle. Treat the list as a clear description, not as proof of an effect.
